Day 3 -
On Saturday morning, you will have a great time strolling around and visiting the open-air
market with an array of local products. We'll then drive on to Deauville; a famous city
where the Parisians head every weekend to restore themselves. It is a very popular place
for horse races, casinos, and reknowned festivals. Considered the Normandy Riviera, the
beach is a long stretch of sand, spreading over many kilometers. We will then have a
wonderful seafood lunch overlooking the ocean in Arromanches. Afterwards, you'll visit
the Arromanches D-Day Museums, and Batteries de Longues and then check into the Chateau
de Cheneviere****in Port en Bessin.
Day 4 -
A mid-morning visit is arranged for you to view the tapestry of Queen Mathilda and the
cathedral of Bayeux followed by lunch. Next is a tour of the Omaha and Utah D-Day Beaches
including the Pointe du Hoc and the American Cemetery at St. Laurent. Then, we will return
to the Chateau de Cheneviere**** followed by a private dinner hosted by Bertrand's friend,
Benoit de Montlebert at his chateau.
Ah, Paris!
Paris is the capital of the Ile-de-France region. It is one of the most magnificent cities in the
world. Famous architecture and classical sculpture are found throughout the city that is reknowned
for its gourmet food, and premiere restaurants. It is also the center of high fashion with up-scale,
exclusive shops on the grand Champs-Elysees.
Paris boasts more than 2,000 years of history with the "Etoile" (the Arc d'Triomphe) as one of its
most prestigious landmarks along with the globally recognized Eiffel Tower. Known for its beauty,
Paris is 'magnifique' in many ways. It is the city with some of the most extraordinary and diverse
architecture in the world and includes castles (Versaille which was built by Louis XIV), churches
(Notre Dame), the Louvre Museum, impressive monuments and an array of charming buildings.
